This is a tricky question. Generally speaking, spring is a great time to plant most perennials and annuals. Spring planting takes advantage of the cooler but warming temperatures and increasing daylight. This helps plants establish themselves and provides them ample time to put down a solid root system before winter. That being said, there are some plants that are better planted in the fall. Depending on the plant selection, location, and time of year, gardens are generally installed in phases based on when is the optimal time to plant.
